At 8:50 September 11th, my TV turned on automatically and woke me up to the reality that America isn't as safe as we like to think.
I called everyone that I could reach and did my best to spread the word on AOL Instant Messenger.
Nobody was around except Nil So Ill, who I had met at the Chopping Block some years ago.
I immediately told her what was going on, and it was specifically poignant because she was out of town living in France.
